♦ Meeting Schedule - The association meeting schedule has been set for the first half of the season ... you can find the specific dates on our Meetings page. Our first meeting of the season is scheduled for Monday, October 4th (at Jax Grill, of course!).
♦ Website Updates - Our website has be updated with 4 significant improvements:
New Members Page - This page is a source of basic information for our new members. The information covers a broad range of topics ... all intended to help give our new members a solid start in their first season.
Forum Page - This state-wide forum is for the exclusive use of TWOA Officials. The mission is to promote consistency, encourage the sharing of ideas and to foster a sense of camaraderie. Keep an eye out for the launch!
Send Payment Page - This page allows you to send money to the association with an established PayPal account or with a credit card. Perfect, of course, for sending your dues to the association! No fees, no hassle and no excuses!
Archives Page - The page contains a variety of information from our previous seasons. This would include previous Breaking News articles, Meeting Minutes, Schedules, Referee Photos, Downloads and Finance information.
♦ UIL Registration & Dues - Last season we voted to accept the new UIL Registration Process for this season. As a result, the UIL will be responsible for providing our officiating insurance, our NFHS books and will administer the NFHS Part I examination (online). Consequently, our dues will now be paid to the UIL. A few comments in that regard:
♦ TWOA State Clinic - The annual TWOA State Clinic will be held on Saturday, September 18 at the Burger Activity Center in Austin, TX. The clinic will run from 9:30am to 2:00pm ... lunch and refreshments will be provided at no charge. A few further comments:

A few comments in that regard:- For this season alone, the dues will be paid to our association and will then be sent to the UIL in a single lump sum payment. The reasoning behind this is explained in a letter from Tony Timmons of the UIL to all TWOA officials.
- As a result of the October 1st deadline, we must received your $50 dues prior to September 26th. Once received, we'll send all dues (and required info) to UIL for processing. Dues received after this date will be $75 (new members excepted).
- To make paying your dues as easy as possible, we've established a Send Payment page that allows you to pay your dues online (you can, of course, still pay by check). In any case, please send in your dues as soon as possible.
♦ TWOA State Clinic - The annual TWOA State Clinic will be held on Saturday, September 18 at the Burger Activity Center in Austin, TX. A few further comments:- The topics will include the NFHS rule changes, the TWOA online state forum, the UIL Registration process, regional and state tournament selections, skin and health issues and the special situations surrounding youth officiating.
- We would like to see a strong Houston showing at this clinic ... hopefully, 10-15 Houston officials will attend (of course, the more the merrier!). With that said, please send your clinic RSVP to Mark Lyons as soon as possible.
- A car pool has been setup at the Academy Sporting Goods Store at I-10 and the Grand Parkway. Since the clinic starts at 9:30, the carpool will leave promptly at 7:00am. Please contact Mark Lyons if you plan on joining the car pool.

♦ We are in the process of updating our website for the 2010-11 Wrestling Season. Of special note will be the launch of our TWOA State Forum. This forum will be specifically designed for the exclusive use of TWOA Officials. The mission of this forum will be to promote officiating consistency, encourage the sharing of ideas and to foster a sense of camaraderie within our state-wide association. Keep an eye out for it!
